Adventures in Toronto

My trip last week was awesome. It was great to see the sistertraveller and my grandparents again, and it was so much fun to have a whole weekend to spend with the sistertraveller, mother dear and godmother dear!

We visited a market and found rows upon rows of various types of squash. It was great! I was tempted to buy some to cart home on the plane 🙂

My grandparents live in a lovely little beach town just a couple hours outside of Toronto, so the sistertraveller and I rented a car to visit them. It really felt like autumn with the chilly weather and the leaves just starting to turn.

We spent much of the five days eating amazing food, shopping a lot (ahem… not too much shopping, father dear ;)) and exploring the city on foot.

This was an interesting building we found on the outskirts of the distillery district - it comes to a point!

I also went with the sistertraveller and some of her friends to see Yukon Blonde play (not a huge fan of them myself, but they’ve got a couple good songs), and it was really nice to go out to a show with her just like we used to!

All in all, it was a wonderful trip. I’m looking forward to the next one 🙂

    Nice blog, Sagan.

Coming from Winnipeg, we’re not really used to big cities. But what I’ve found over the years, is that the more you get to know a big city, the more likely you are to appreciate its attributes.

I started going to Toronto regularly for meetings nearly 15 years ago, and since then, have made many journeys of exploration throughout the city. I’m still discovering new things each time I visit! Don’t think I’d want to live there, but I can certainly appreciate why people do.

I have no grandparents (they’ve all since passed on) but I do have cousins across the country that I can and do visit. Enjoy discovering new places. It will truly enhance your life.
