Bimuno IMMUNAID product review & giveaway
I was recently sent some samples of Bimuno IMMUNAID (chewable pastilles to help maintain immune health) and was quite eager to test them out. My workplace went from having about a half a dozen people working in the office a year and a half ago to now having around 20 people in the office, and it feels as though not a week has gone by in the past five months or so that someone in the office isn’t sick. It’s also one of our busiest times of the year around now, and for the most part none of us can really afford to fall ill.
Enter Bimuno!
I’ve been taking the pastilles for 10 days now. Interestingly, I started to feel a little bit of a sore throat coming on this past week – just barely – and it kept almost being there but it hasn’t actually made an appearance. I am very pleased about that, especially since I’ve had about three colds in the past four months and I’m not prepared to get sick again! Perhaps it’s thanks to Bimuno? So far, I’m impressed.
But what exactly is in Bimuno?
Bimuno IMMUNAID ingredients list the following:
- Bimuno syrup (galacto-ologosaccharides, glucose, galactose and lactose)
- Gelatin
- Sodium ascorbate (vitamin C)
- Glazing agent (coconut oil, vegetable fats, carnauba wax)
That’s all well and good, but what exactly are some of those things?
Breaking it down, this is essentially what each of the above ingredients are:
- Galacto-ologosaccharides are a prebiotic (they are digested by intestinal bacteria. Yum).
- Glucose and galactose are both simple sugars.
- Lactose is a disaccharide (a sugar made up of two simple sugars).
- Gelatin is a protein made from animals that is used as a thickening agent.
- Carnauba wax is the wax from palm leaves.
Although gelatin and carnauba wax can be iffy, they’re both very standard ingredients in many food products and they’re deemed relatively safe. And as you might have noticed, Bimuno is completely free of artificial colours and flavours! That always makes me happy. The ingredients list is very respectable.
So how exactly does Bimuno work?
In their own words:
Bimuno IMMUNAID is a unique patented formulation, specially developed to help keep your immune system fit and healthy. Scientific studies indicate that Galacto-oligosaccharides, as provided by Bimuno IMMUNAID, help encourage and sustain a healthy level of your gut’s “good” immune supporting bacteria (Bifidobacteria).
By helping to increase and strengthen your body’s “good” bacteria, you can help to support your natural defences. Bimuno IMMUNAID also includes Vitamin C for added immune support.

Chocolate and beerβ¦..not necessarily in that order π
Wash hands, sneeze into my elbow, and have a positive outlook on life.
Goji berries (love, love, love em!)
Vitamin D daily (I live in Canada, what can I say?!)
These are the things that keep me healthy throughout the year.
Proper sneezing always makes me think of Liz Lemon saying something along the lines of “sneeze into your arm the way Obama taught you!” on 30 Rock.

I think it’s interesting learning how important our gut bacteria are to our health. Mostly I try to stay away from sick people, keep up with my exercise and get enough sleep.
Super fascinating! I want to keep learning more about it.
