Healthy Foods to Add to Your Diet

The following is a list of some of the foods that are super high in nutrients and fantastic to include to your everyday diet. I strongly encourage adding them to green smoothies – it’s an easy way to get all of these important foods into your day. This is especially important during this time of year when we tend to be stressed, exercise less, and eat poorly! If you plan to have a green smoothie for breakfast or lunch at least a few times each week, incorporating the following ingredients, you’ll be able to maintain better health and be more energized during this hectic season.

Dandelion Leaves

Good for:

  • Cleansing the liver and blood
  • Improving function of kidneys and stomach

How to eat:

  • Add to smoothies or salads
  • Steam like you would spinach or kale

Chia Seeds

Good for:

  • Improving bowel movements
  • Reducing the risk of diabetes

How to eat:

  • Turn it into chia pudding

Sea Buckthorn

Good for:

  • Skin, liver, and gastrointestinal health
  • Supporting the immune system

How to eat:

  • Add to smoothies
  • Take a supplement form
  • Add liquid to your moisturizer or shampoo for external use

    Love the bee pollen. I use it everyday without fail. It’s an awesome energy booster in my opinion. I never tried the others but I think I’ll add some dandelion leaves to my next smoothie! Thanks for the tip. Great website too BTW.

    I’ve heard people swear by Sea Buckthorn which I always thought was odd but this the third time I’ve seen it now. I’ll give a try! I’m always up for a new supplement (can you be addicted to supplements?)
