Winter Work Style: Sweater Dress
During the summer, I live in dresses and skirts. It’s always a sad time when I have to put away the dresses and skirts for months on end and pull on pants again!
That’s why I love this sweater dress. I normally choose cocktail dresses, since they hit just about the knee and are more suitable for my height and body shape. But this dress is a little different, hugging the form and hitting right at the knee, with three-quarter-length sleeves… a lovely sweater dress that is warm enough to wear during the winter months.
This dress is ideal work style in the winter! It’s warm, modest, comfortable, and just right for the office. Since it’s a little bit longer, I prefer to wear heels over ballet flats to elongate the legs.
The panels along the side and the black-and-white zigzag pattern gives the dress extra shape and dimension. You could easily belt this dress, too!
Although I chose not to wear bracelets for this particular look (too much typing to do! Can’t let them get in the way of my work :)), the sleeves on this dress are ideal for showing off a set of bangle bracelets.
Since I work from home, I *can* wear whatever I want—but it’s nice to dress in work-wear! If I don’t have to leave the house, I might go bare-legged with this dress; otherwise, if you’re in an office, simply pair it with some warm tights and a pair of ankle boots.
The dress, shoes, and jewelry might all be a simple black-white-silver ensemble, but you can always add a pop of color with makeup! I’ve been crazy about red nails and red lips this week. And how very fitting it is, since February is Heart Health Month, and today is Wear Red Day!
It’s important that we be aware of heart health issues all year round, but today is a good reminder for us to take care of and protect our hearts. (And we can always do that while looking gorgeous ;))
