How to get pretty, princess-style hair for your next holiday party
The holiday season is party season! But don’t stop at just getting your outfit and makeup party-ready. You can also get super pretty, festive hair in seconds.
I promise this look is crazy simple. Here’s what you have to do to get a pretty princess hairstyle:
- Brush or comb your hair so that it falls down around your shoulders or down your back (depending on the length).
- Get a small hair elastic and pull the sides of your hair up—just small pieces, enough that there is still plenty of hair falling down your back.
- Loop the elastic around both strands of hair to secure in place down the middle of your back.
- Choose your favorite sparkly barrette and clip it just over the hair elastic. The elastic will ensure the barrette stays in place all day (and evening!) long.
You can pull back as big or small amount of hair as you want – and you’ll get a brand new look every time!
If you have shorter layers that frame your face, bring those pieces out to fall gently around your face, and pull back longer pieces of hair to go in the clip.
How simple is this look? You can also add a spritz of hairspray or some de-frizz cream to smooth any flyaways.
This style works beautifully for long hair, but if you have short hair you can pull it off too!
If the barrette is crooked, just straighten it out as a final touch before heading out to your party.
I haven’t gotten too fancied up for holiday events in the past but my thinking has recently changed. It’s important to feel pretty, but that doesn’t have to mean a bunch of makeup and uncomfortable clothes. A pretty accessory is sometimes all it takes. 🙂
