Vegan? Paleo? Raw? What’s the best way of eating?
This is something that many people get stumped with. There is a whole lot of information and research and scientific studies saying all kinds of conflicting things regarding food and nutrition. How can we choose a way of eating that is healthy when one study tells us that raw food is best, and another says that plenty of animal protein is best?
Ultimately, the answer is: whatever works for YOUR body.
There are countless contributing factors determining which diet is going to be enjoyable for you and help you to thrive. Some do amazing on a high raw diet, whereas others feel great when they eat high protein meals. It’s worth experimenting with different ways of eating to see which suits your body and makes you feel well.*
Listen to your body: it will often tell you what you need. Depending on your symptoms, you may be lacking in one nutrient or another. That’s one of the reasons why I am such a big advocate of drinking green smoothies, because they contain so much good nutrients that we don’t usually get in our Standard American Diet.
One thing I will note is that fatty food, salt and sugar are addicting, and sometimes we get tricked into thinking our body wants it because we crave it. There are many different ways of eating that are healthy depending on our body types, but avoiding overly processed and junk food is a key part of all of them!
