The key to getting Golden Globes style inspiration (or, really, getting style inspiration from any event) is to identify what it is that you like about different styles. When you can pinpoint what it is that you like about a specific fashion item or beauty look, you can assess whether it will work for you.
This means identifying if a dress looks great on someone in part because of their body shape or skin tone, how a hairstyle would go with your face shape, and how you could dress up a piece from your own wardrobe to emulate a style from the Golden Globes, for example.
Also take into consideration what goes best with different fashion and beauty trends. Sure, you could get a dress that looks exactly like one from the red carpet, but if you don’t do your hair and nails to go with it, or if you are missing the shoes and make-up to really polish the look, it’s just not going to feel quite the same.
